Background
Founded in 1890, Majorica is the world-renowned jewelry brand of the Spanish Royal Family. Majorica’s commitment to marine conservation led to the innovative development of artificial pearl technology.
With the growing demand for sustainable packaging, Majorica sought a packaging solution that reflected its philosophy of marine conservation and its classic meets today’s aesthetic.
Challenges
Majorica jewelry packaging design needs to be balanced and innovative in terms of inheriting the brand’s history, meeting modern aesthetics, achieving environmental sustainability, protecting product safety, and controlling cost-effectiveness to meet the challenges of a diverse marketplace.
It is necessary to create packaging that can show the brand’s deep history of more than 130 years and reflect modern aesthetics, and at the same time to design environmentally friendly packaging that meets the goals of sustainable development.
Solutions Approach
Richpack used the Circular Economy Packaging Design Model for Majorica’s pearl jewelry packaging design. Richpack used environmentally friendly materials such as paper from sustainably managed forests or recycled plastics to create the jewelry carton and incorporated a biodegradable material support liner.
The packaging is also clearly labeled with an environmental message to convey the brand’s eco-friendly philosophy to consumers. In terms of structural design, Richpack adopts a modular design to ensure the safety and beauty of the jewelry through easy disassembly and recycling.
